The 8th grade gardening class transplanted some bell pepper starts from my home garden.  They became the first residents in our newly strengthened greenhouse (thanks to second grade class assistant, Mr. Ferguson). Welcome new and returning families to the 2019-2020 school year. We are off to a great start! In preparation for this school year, Orchard faculty and staff have worked in unity with diligence to develop a school-wide behavior plan. Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe are the norms we have agreed to hold throughout the entire school. Class Teachers and Specialty Teachers are focusing on these "3 B's" with their classes as they teach students how these norms look in each classroom.

Congratulations to Kendra Seagraves of 6th grade. Kendra won the yearbook cover art contest. When asked about her art piece, Kendra wrote:

In the beginning of the school year, we welcome the year with an opening Rose Ceremony of white roses presented by the eighth graders to the first graders. The white rose symbolizes purity and truth for the children’s journey into the grades.
