On the Friday before Martin Luther King Day, we had an assembly. Many teachers and students participated in this celebration. The sixth graders told Dr. King's life story and Charlie, an 8th grader, shared his thoughts about equality and Martin Luther King Jr. Here is what he had to say in front of the school:
Dear Orchard Families,
Welcome to the start of the 2018-19 school year. Throughout the summer and continuing into the new year we have been using our virtue of the month of determination to complete the newly renovated Historic Wing. Those of you who joined us for our ribbon pulling ceremony enjoyed a tour of the new facilities. We still have some finishing touches to complete but the spaces are already in use. Orchard has reached a new milestone; this is our schools first year as a full K-8th school.
