The 8th grade gardening class transplanted some bell pepper starts from my home garden. They became the first residents in our newly strengthened greenhouse (thanks to second grade class assistant, Mr. Ferguson). We also harvested lavender flowers for use in good smelling handwork projects and future cooking endeavors. Some snowball echinacea seeds were also saved. The best part was learning about various...
types of cucumbers, lemon, pickling and english, and how to prepare them properly and enjoy their yumminess. One student commented that the class was so fun it made him forget that he didnt like vegetables and fruits! We tried some watermelon radishes from my home garden and reveled in the smell, tast, and wierdness.
